Let's say it's Agatha Christie on urban fantasy crack. Or maybe cozy to campy. Flappers meet blood-suckers.
I've had this idea, perhaps since the summer of 2005, that I was going to do a story which took place on a train. There's a murder and everyone in the car where the murder took place are supernatural creatures of one sort or another. I just didn't know when, where, how, why, and exactly who.
Of course, now that I've sort of figured out the who, the why, and the how, I can't really disclose any of it (as I'm not inclined to spoil the story before it's even begun). As for the other stuff: It's around the 1920s and a train is heading northwest from Samsun to Odessa via Istanbul. The reluctant detective is a wimpy dhampire confectioner with issues. Yeah, that might sound crazy, but my protagonist is actually quite normal compared to some of the other characters.
