On Sunday, I drove up to Spokane to go to a write-in at a coffee shop called the Empyrean. Initially, I got turned around a bit before I really found my destination--but it's really my fault though. I have a terrible sense of direction and the numerous one way streets in downtown Spokane didn't help matters. I'm sure the group of old men loitering at this one corner thought I was nuts after passing them by a kazillion times.
Anyways, it was very cool meeting some new Nanowrimo participants and their ML who suggested trying to plan a whole Inland Northwest meet (which would include eastern Washington, possibly Oregon, northern Idaho, and Western Montana) for next year. It sounds like a way awesome idea, but I'm sort of leery about the logistics of transportation. Some people can't get around as easily as others.
I was probably the only one at the write-in writing by hand, but I did get a bit done despite the story itself being slow. I think I just need to sit down somewhere for an hour or two, alone, to actually get some serious writing done. But it's probably not going to happen this week. Oh well.
