The midnight write-in was a small, quiet affair. I probably wrote more words at this early time point than I have before. The only problem was the clocks. Everybody's clock on their laptops were set at different times. The online clock that some professors use for their exams was at yet another time. And the clock at the library was the slowest of all. In the end, we settled on the library clock just to be safe, but next year, I'm going to figure out ahead of time the most accurate clock to use.
Some thoughts on my current writing: There's quite a bit of dialogue in the beginning which marks a bit of a departure for me. I have the urge to re-write the beginning, but I'm going to hold off on that. It defeats the purpose of Nano to go backwards. My characters are feeling a bit slippery and unpredictable. Which is scary--because probably only my subconscious knows what's going to happen next.
