Well, trying to write a plot outline was a bust. Instead, I ended up writing quite a bit on background--especially about characters who are dead or are never going to appear in the story, but the events that happened to them and their actions which will have consequences for the characters after them.
To be succinct: this is getting complicated.
At the moment, there are two plot lines running parallel with the distinct possibility that there will be a big clash/big reveal/surprise/whathaveyou at the end. Hm. I wonder if ray guns will work...
