I found it amusing that one of the people working at the place where I made reservations for write-ins actually knew what Nanowrimo was. Most of the time, it's more like, "What the hell is Nanowrimo?"
This year is going to be sort of interesting because my co-ML from last year isn't doing Nano this year. It's interesting because I don't think I'm going to do all that much more work than I did last year. Or even the year before when I wasn't ML. I guess it's because whoever else had been "in charge" was pretty hands off and just left me to schedule things. And I don't really know anyone (except the MLs in the next town over) who's really gung-ho enough to want to take on a position as an ML. I sort of feel like I've become the default person because I've done Nano longer than anyone in the entire state (and hence I'm supposedly experienced enough to do all of this).
To be honest, the only thing holding me back is my lack of gregariousness. If I was more outgoing, I'd feel like a better ML.
