Hm. So apparently there is something about smut that ups the word count. But that totally does not mean that I'm resorting to that tactic for my novel.

Hooray literary fiction! I had no idea that my genre was second or third biggest this year. I love when you do these pieces of research.
 
Yes, literary fiction does have the third largest group of participants. I don't really find that surprising because most people don't consider their own writing genre writing (J.K. Rowling didn't think she was writing fantasy).

At the end of the month, I'm going to actually see what percentage of participants in each genre actually make it to 50k.
